Honoring Katherine Schwartz
03/25/2019 10:01:26 AM
Katherine Schwartz has been educating our students and adults, alike, for the past 21 years. She has brought creativity, inspiration, and vitality to our school, youth programs and adult learners. For more than two decades, she has provided meaningful leadership, served as our director when needed, been a mentor to colleagues around the country and so much more.
This year is Katherine’s 25th year after her graduation from the Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion’s Rhea Hirsch School of Education. As such, she will be receiving her Doctor of Jewish Religious Education, honoris causa, degree.
In honor of Katherine’s achievements, we hope that you will consider making an additional act of tzedakah this year to the Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion. It is our hope that we can contribute to the L'dor Vador Scholarship Fund which honors HUC-JIR alumni for their 25 years of dedicated service to the Jewish People. Through this project, the College - Institute will be able to recognize in perpetuity the name of each participating honoree for contributions that reach $1,800. Click here to make your gift. Please select General Operating Fund from the dropdown menu and write HUC-JIR in the Payment Notes field. Har HaShem will collect these gifts and will send a single gift to the College - Institute. If you prefer to make a contribution by check, you can make it payable to HUC-JIR and send it to:

Congregation Har HaShem

We will let you know when a celebration will be planned with our congregation. We look forward to celebrating with her and her family.
Thank you for supporting the programs of our seminary, the Hebrew Union College, and the education programs here at Congregation Har HaShem.
With warm wishes and shalom,
Rabbi Fred Greene
