Message about Mosque Attacks

I know that our hearts break – again – as we learn about another act of terror committed against the Muslim communities at the Al Noor Mosque and Linwood Mosque in Christchurch, New Zealand. Our feelings are mixed with outrage and sympathy. It wasn’t that long ago when our neighbors from the Islamic Center of Boulder stood shoulder to shoulder with us after the tragic murders at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh.
I have contacted our neighbors and asked how we can be supportive. I am waiting to hear back and if there is a place for our community to stand with them, I will surely let you know.
In the meantime, here are statements from our movement:
Union for Reform Judaism
Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism
World Union for Progressive Judaism
Tonight, we will have a guest Scholar-in-Residence with us, but while we are learning from Dr. Daniel Matt, we will surely share our prayer for healing, strength and of course, for peace.
Shabbat shalom to you and hopes for shalom/salaam to our world.
Rabbi Fred Greene
