Covid Update
03/11/2020 06:09:51 PM
Har HaShem’s leadership is actively monitoring the progress of Covid-19. Like you, we have seen closures including the Boulder Jewish Film Festival, CU’s Conference on World Affairs, in-person classes at University of Colorado, Jewish Colorado programs for the next 30 days, and all organized programming at Denver Parks and Recreation Rec Centers. We are monitoring information from the Boulder and Colorado health departments, and the CDC.
We are considering and making choices in the contexts of public health and Jewish values. Experts are recommending social distancing -- avoiding large gatherings and maintaining at least six feet distance from others. Jewish values command us to care for ourselves and one another.
We will inform you as we make decisions and communicate as clearly and quickly as we can.
These are the changes and preparations we are making now:
-
Effective immediately, Har HaShem will not serve food. There will be no community oneg after services, no bagel buffet at Torah study and no Beit Cafe on Sunday mornings. Consider bringing your own.
-
We continue to stream Friday evening services.
-
We will begin to stream Saturday morning services.
-
Torah study will be available online by Zoom and in person.
-
Staff are prepared to work from home, should we close the building.
-
We are gathering information from you about help you can provide or assistance you might need. Please complete this form.
We are reaching out to committee chairs, program sponsors, adult education teachers and others to decide whether these meetings and programs will be conducted as planned, virtually, rescheduled, or canceled. Please look for separate communications about these gatherings. We are expanding our capacity for online meetings through Zoom, a virtual conference room that we have been using for committee and board meetings, or similar platforms.
The Board will be reaching out to the congregation to check in and share support.
Remember that you can email info@harhashem.org, and we will route your message to the appropriate staff or volunteer.
We are acting with foresight and caution, hoping for the best and preparing for more difficult possibilities.
