In Judaism,
there is no word for charity.
Instead, we use the word tzedakah,
derived from the Hebrew word meaning
righteousness, justice or fairness.
Tzedakah is not a matter of choice.
It is the performance of a duty
– a sacred obligation –
and the highest of all commandments.
There are many ways to give to Har HaShem
One-time or recurring donations
Support Har HaShem’s work by making a contribution to a specific fund or the congregation’s overall operation. Dedicate the donation in honor or in memory of a friend or loved one. You can schedule the donation for the future or make it a recurring donation into the future. Make a donation now.
Annual Campaign
In 2017-2018, Har HaShem consolidated the Kol Nidre Appeal, Year End Appeal and some miscellaneous fundraising into one Annual Campaign. These funds help support the community in an unrestricted way. We ask our members each year for a gift to the Congregation as an additional act of tzedakah to keep our community strong. This might be a one-time gift. Or, in the future, you might add this amount to your membership. We are grateful for your generosity!
