middleschool 2016JYG is the youth group for 6th thru 8th graders and this year it will be bigger and greater than ever before! JYG will have monthly social activities including one overnight, events with high school youth group, and exciting field trips, plus fun religious school activities, and the chance to attend a regional NFTY youth group event with hundreds of other JYGers from all over the Midwest!

Youth Shabbat

In addition to normal youth group events, JYG kids are also welcome to attend a special Shabbat once a month that is only for kids and teens! Click here for more information and to see the dates!

JYG – Event Descriptions 2016-17

Team Challenge Day – Sept. 11, 2016 (12 – 2:30pm)
Imagine yourself suspended up in the trees and challenging yourself through obstacle courses with your friends. Together with BTY well explore each other’s leadership styles and step into our growth zones with high-action challenges and group games at CU Boulder’s Challenge Course!
Colorado Wilderness Experience – Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016 (12:00 – 3PM)
Join your fellow JYGers on an exploration of our beautiful Colorado wilderness at Red Rocks Park. We’ll explore all our senses through activities such as a Sensory Awareness Hike, Blind Eagle, fort building and a local wildlife search. We’ll also participate in a social action trail building project!
Middle School Retreat – Friday, Oct. 14 – Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016 (times TBD)
Dive in to a weekend full of beautiful Colorado wilderness, teambuilding, night exploration hikes, group games and a journey to connect with our inner Jewish Hero. Immerse yourself in the wild for a weekend of friendship, connection, Jewish leadership and learning! 
Xtreme Arena – Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016 (12:00 – 3:00PM)
It’s always a great day to swing on ropes, get shot out of a cannonball, dive into ball pits and spider crawl across the ceiling. Did we mention you can foam sword battle your friends? Come out for a day of extreme play with JYG! 
Winter Break Movement – Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016 (11:00 – 1:00PM)
Want to do something active in this cold weather that doesn't require hours of driving up the mountain?
We got your climbing fee! All you need to get is the gear (climbing shoes and harness). Bring your own or Movement has gear for rent for about $10. Never climbed before? Able to crush a 5.11d?  No matter what your climbing ability we will have staff to help guide, belay and coach you whatever your skill level.
Chipper’s Lane Broomfield (Bowling & Laser Tag) – Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017 (7:00 – 9:00pm)
If the title isn’t convincing enough, here it is again: BOWLING & LASER TAG! That’s right. Spend a few rounds of bowling with your friends and then head into the dark chambers of an indoor laser tag course. Complete with glow-in-the-dark walls and labyrinths, this is sure to be a fun way to spend the afternoon!
JYG Chavurah (Overland Park, KS) – Friday, Feb. 3 – Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017 (times TBD)
Once a year, 150 7th and 8th graders from Colorado, Kansas, and Missouri come together for a weekend of fun Jewish learning and community building. You spend the weekend with your best friends, make dozens of new friends, and have more fun than you’ve ever had on a weekend retreat before! Star Wars Costume @ Denver Art Museum for NFTY 678 – Sunday, March 19 at 3:00 pm
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, Colorado's NFTY678 journeyed to the Star Wars Exhibit at the Denver Art Museum! Cost is $10 and you can register on the NFTY-MV website: www.missourivalley.nfty.org
JYG Mystery Overnight – Saturday, April 8 (4PM) – Sunday, April 9 (8:00AM)
Come along on a mysterious journey with your favorite JYG friends. Our overnight will include awesome food, games, and connections with your BTY hosts.
IDF Day led by BTY – Sunday, April 30, 2017 (12:00-2:00pm)
This immersive, large-scale Israeli Defense Force experience will take over the entire south area of Har HaShem’s campus. Through real-world scenarios, games, puzzles and other group challenges, your BTY hosts will give you an experience like no other!
